Hi, I’m Lesley!

Meet the Letterer

I’m a lefty letterer, elementary school teacher, mom, crafter, and lover of all things handmade.

I’ve always loved fancy writing–from dot and bubble letters all the way hand lettering today.

Lettering found me at a season of life when I really needed something to focus on and grow from. I took a watercolor lettering class, rediscovered I was terrible at painting, but loved creating letters–and the rest is history.

After years of teaching in the classroom, I realized that the creativity and joy I brought to my students was exactly what I wanted to bring to lettering. While on an extended maternity leave, I fell in love with the craft and haven’t looked back.

I’ve since taught more than 500 people the art of hand lettering, worked with clients all across the US, and had the joy of contributing to publications and communities I genuinely admire.

Whether I’m addressing envelopes for a wedding, teaching a beginner how to hold a pen, or doodling on the couch after my kids go to bed, letters are always nearby.

When I am not lettering or teaching school, you can usually find me reading, embroidering, scrapbooking, or hanging out with my family.

I love learning new things, finding the perfect fit for a client project, and–as my kids will confirm–accidentally coloring on myself with ink.
